Sandy beaches, a laid-back vibe, picturesque harbours? Check. Newquay is one of the best, if not the best, seaside resort in the UK. Perched on Cornwall's wild Atlantic Coast, the town boasts 7 miles of golden beaches and breathtaking coastal scenery.

But don’t be fooled - it’s not all about lazing and lounging around in the sun. Newquay is famed for having some of the world’s best water sports activities and competitions, welcoming the famous Boardmasters festival every year.

It’s clear that Newquay is the perfect holiday spot for a family break or a romantic getaway. So to help you plan your break, we’ve compiled our picks of things to see, eat, and do to keep yourself busy in Newquay.

WHERE TO EAT & DRINK IN NEWQUAY

The Fish House - Fistral: If you’re into seafood, you absolutely can’t miss a trip to Paul Harwood’s Fish House. The fish comes straight from Newquay harbour and onto your plate, creating rustic dishes with authentic flavours. Trust us, Paul’s food is mouthwatering.

Gusto Deli Bar: It may be a takeaway restaurant, but it may just be the best takeaway you’ll ever have! Inspired by the Mediterranean, Gusto is famed by locals for its fresh flatbreads, hot plate meats and amazing homemade falafels.

Bush Pepper: This quirky, contemporary restaurant is owned by Aussie Chris who was determined to bring authentic Australian food to the Cornish coast. His food is so good, that Bush Pepper seems to be stirring up a bit of a storm in the area.

Lusty Glaze: Nestled back into a pretty, private cove, Lusty Glaze bar & restaurant literally looks like it just stepped out of a fairytale. With a terrace for sunny summer days and log burners when it’s chilly, it’s the perfect place for a laid-back coffee - or maybe something stronger!

Esplanade Hotel: The contemporary Esplanade Hotel isn’t just a picturesque beach-side hotel - it also has it’s very own on-site surf school. It’s the perfect place for families, with tons of activities for the kids and stunning seascapes to enjoy.

The Escape: Perfect for those looking to dance the night away, The Escape is a lively surf hostel-style lodge with a fully licensed bar. Despite the budget prices, the lodge is lovely, clean and super fun.
